Jack Scanlan

AVOLENT is very fortunate to have Jack Scanlan as a member of its Healthcare Advisory Board. As a Healthcare Sales and Business Development Consultant, Jack is senior consultant to several healthcare companies that market IT products/services and medical/administrative cost reduction services to BCBS plans, commercial payors, managed care companies, TPAs, provider groups and hospitals and potential strategic business partners.

From 1993 to 2000, Jack was Executive Vice President for Sales, Marketing and Business Development of EDI USA, a leading national electronic healthcare transaction clearinghouse, which was owned by 13 BCBS Plans. He closed contracts with 49 BCBS Plans, 70 major payors and 28 TPAs. He also directed sales and new product development efforts in a strategic business partnership with S2 Systems Healthcare Division that provided E-Commerce transaction processing ASP services, web-based network development and system integration software tools to leading healthcare payors.

Prior to that, Mr. Scanlan held the position of Senior Vice President for Global Sales and Marketing for Black Box Corporation, a Pittsburgh-based Fortune 500 manufacturer and distributor of computer networking, data and telecommunication products. He has also held positions of President of a Dictaphone Corporation subsidiary, General Manager at Moore Business Forms and VP and Account Director at Ted Bates & Company, a leading international advertising agency.

Mr. Scanlan served as a member of a US Presidential Commission co-chaired by the Secretary of Department of Health, Education and Welfare and John D. Rockefeller, Jr.

Jack Scanlan graduated from Temple University with a BS degree in Business and holds a MBA degree from the Wharton Graduate School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania,
